Default WRX oem heatshield

Just curious as to who retained the heatshield after DP installs and if you think it is at all necessary. I left mine off after my helix DP install and never thought anything of it, but now i'm curious. Do you think something should be done since the IC is top mount and since everyone always bitches about cylinder #3 probs?

i don't know what to say to that so...i guess i'll just use all faces.

after thinking about how i took the fucker off, i bet it would stay on with no fuggin screws. ha. I assume that means you left the lower heatshield off though. Unfortunetly for me though, i don't think the upper one would fit without some cutting and shit. Anyone else wanna chime in on this?

I have two words to your number three concern:

FMIC would def solve that problem and be dead sexy but i think that would be the last thing i would buy for this car. I don't think it's worth buying a FMIC until you have internals.

Internals? How many WRX's do you ever see that really ahve internal work done?? Not many. A lot of it that I've ever seen is jusst a lot of bolt on stuff. If I were you I would've worded that sentence as follows:

I don't think it's worth buying a FMIC until you have a bigger turbo.

I don't like waiting, especially for boost!

Maybe i should have worded it:

I would upgrade my TMIC with a bigger turbo because i don't like waiting, especially for boost. If i ever went internals, then, i would put up with the lag since the TMIC wouldn't be gettin the job done.

it don't matter same thing as exhaust wrap too. it dont make a difference on or off. depends on driver. plus the heat sheild u need to cut to fit aftermarket exhaust and makes a noise - fkn annoying
