Subaru Recalls
Subaru Recalls
I have been reading about people recieving a recall notice(coolant conditioner) and such on their 2.5L subarus(legacy, impreza rs, etc.) but I have not recieved one. I was wondering how they go about sending them out? Do they check the dmv database or they do some other way? Just wondering since I am the 2nd owner of my subaru. any help would be appreciated. thx

They are sending them out according to original purchase date, I got mine a few weeks ago. Since you are the second owner, I'd be willing to guess that SoA doesn't have your contact info. You can call (or go by) your dealer and give them the VIN number and they will tell you if your car is eligible.
To ensure you always get any recalls or service bulletins:
a. Look in the owners manual, find and send in the "Change of Ownership" card to SoA.
b. Go to http://www.my.subaru.com and register your information there.

if the place you bought the car from does it right SOA will know you have the car. the place i bought my car from screwed everything up & SOA still tracked me down about the "stop leak" recall. still gotta get around to buying it though...
