Default legacy question

My dad owns a 92 legacy non-turbo and hes thinking about getting a new car...so i wanted to take it on as a project car, my question is what kind of engine could i drop into it to make it quick..i don't know much about subaru's so i was hoping you guys could help me out. Besides the engine swap i wanted to swap a manual tranny into it, so how much would all this cost and how quick could i make it. thanks every one, jake.

Formula for speed = EJ22 block, 2.5l open-deck heads (COBB's stage 3 are magnificent), STOCK internals, T25 or T3/T4 tubro, STi trans, axles, driveshaft, and diff.

All being equal, a Legacy turbo is an out-of-the box quickie and has a superb motor in it allready.

ya I'd suggest the sti ra gearset, don't need a whole new tranny. The RA gearset is good for like 330whp. Thats enough hp for me personally.
