It's a dump for the exhaust. When closed the exhaust flows like normal all the way through my exhaust and exits out the tailpipe. When it is open it dumps the exhaust where ever the cut out is installed (before the downpipe turns under the firewall in my case).

Nice Billy! Next time we run into each other, you'll have to let me hear it. I've been thinking about going this route myself, though I'm not sure where I would actually put the dump. Good times.
