i think subaru is making a mistake here. the WRX should be their fastest car (with the STI being even faster). even if it's a subaru, i do NOT want to get beat by a mom carrying groceries with her 2 year old in a baby-seat in the back.

what the mistake here? The wrx is more a base model car for subaru in their performance line. The XT is a good 3-5k over the wrx with that money you can make the rex faster and handle better. I love the idea of the baja and the forrester geting the 2.5L turbo engine.

i just think it's a marketing mistake. ford's fastest car is the mustang cobra. honda's is the s2000. acura's is the nsx. dodge's is the viper. chevy's is the vette. nissan's is the 350Z. these are the companies' marquis. they give the company a sporty image that sticks in people's minds when they go buy ford trucks, honda civics, acura rsx's, dodge neons, chevy cavaliers. it's the car they look up to as a big brother to their car. no one wants the forester as their big brother, i'd rather have the wrx.
and subaru's is the forester?? just does NOT fit in.
and the impreza is the base model. the wrx is a sports sedan, and the STI is a bad ass sports sedan. they should just make the wrx faster, not the forester slower

Impreza Line = USA Base Model: TS < Outback Sport < RS < WRX < STi
Forester Line = USA SUV: X < XS < XT
Baja Line = USA Truck: Sport < Baja Turbo
Legacy Line = USA Premium Model: SE < GT < Outback < H6
Wait til the Legacy Turbo gets here...the WRX will be the slowest turbo car Subaru sells!
