Im new to Scoobies
I've been around cars for my whole life, but I'm new to Subarus. I bought a 95 Impreza 1.8 FWD...it was the only thing I could afford. I figured it'd keep me out of trouble, but I'm tired of staying out of trouble. But I don't know where to get parts. If anyone knows good places to buy parts, let me know. Also, how difficult would a 2.2 swap be? I've done a few Honda swaps, those are fairly simple.

Um, I think you need to spend more time getting to know you're car before you do anything with it.

My car for instance:
Car: $750
Engine: Version V/VI engine and transmission $2000 tops
AWD conversion: Used parts cost me $100
$2850 = mid 14's easy
$3-4000 more 12's
Or turbo you 1.8L cheap. Alan puts out the same HP as a stock WRX
The GC8 is the best platform. Cheap and light.

hell yeah.. you have the perfect platform to build a really nice car.. all the Ver V STi stuff from over the world will fit your car (well alot of it anyhow.. just make sure you ask around before buying up big) .. and like Kyle said.. for very cheap you can build a decent car.. just take your time.. have a goal in mind.. and do some research.reading.learning first.
and dont be afriad to ask for help installing stuff
.. the Subaru guys are a great bunch of guys.. (dont let the mach1 fool you..hehe.. i owned one of the first WRXs in Tampa).. and i am a die hard GC8 fan .. btw.. GC8 is the chassis code for the style of Subaru you have.. the newer WRXs are GDA and i dunno about the even knewer style.. prolly still GDA?..
anyhow.. just think. plan.. save and you'll have a nice car

Thanks. Yeah, I was told the GC8 was a bad ass chassis to start with. I was wanting something that was either all wheel drive or coudl be all wheel drive, and I dont have the money for a GDA WRX or Lancer Evo, so this was what I was told to get. Thanks a lot for your advice. I appreciate it. I'm gonna have to get with some people to find out where to get the Ver. V/VI stuff from.

Check the local junk yards too...they can go a long way in helping you make the car AWD...
Most of the u-pull-it lots have quite a few '90-'95 legacy's...just about everything drivetrain related is interchangable

Hey I never said I wouldn't get owned did I? I know a guy with a 02 wrx and he's got rails&injectors, bigger turbo, fmic, intake, up-pipe, down pipe, and a cat back and it's fast as shit!!!!
