Well, jst got my scooby about a month ago n damm i love this car! I told myself that after i get my springs, i'm gonna be done modding the car.... haha boy was i wrong..

Anyways, I was thinking about getting a turboback exhaust for my car.. I already have a prodrive muffler, and so im leaning more towards the turboxs stealth exhaust... Now how much louder is it when u run a turboback type exhaust without any cats? Will it have that "droning" sound inside the cabin of the car? will i need special hangers so i won't get any unwanted vibrations from the exhaust? THanks for any replies..

Oh yea, anyone here have a yellow wrx that works @ USAA? I saw one today goin home...

 

I have heard that the Turboxs stuff is very cheap and the downpipes crack alout...if i were you i would either go with a MRT stuff or vishnu...i dont know about the sounds cuss my WRX is stock but just my few cents

 

I've never heard about cracking turbo xs downpipes... I run vishnu up-pipe and pde downpipe with stock catback and it sounds pretty good. You can hear it from outside the car but inside all you hear is spooling.

Side not BUY MY DOWNPIPE!!! 300 bucks... how about a uni-chip/harness/emi for 150 bucks... doesn't hurt to try...

How much did the prodive run you... where did you get it...

 

My '02 was fully catless with the Prodrive rear section(I did have the OEM resinator section in place) and it honestly wasn't loud and not much louder than a stock exhaust with the Prodrive rear section on it.

Currently running a Perrin DP into a HKS cat-back and it's ridiculously loud. It's the kind of loud that annoys 99% of the population. Luckily, I'm part of the 1% that loves this sort of thing as I do not do enough highway driving to worry about the incessant drone. I would recommend you not get the HKS cat-back, for no other reason than 3 or 4 of we locals already have it.

 

Mines loud too... header, up pipe, and full turboback, with the same Cat back as mentioned above... louder with the stock manifold however

 

Would any of this stuff go on my GC8?
I hate the fact that a lot of the stuff out there is mostly for the newer models but I figured that the engine/exhaust components were basically the same.

Alot of the exhaust stuff will fit if you have a turbo crossmember.
