RE: Mastro no longer doing installs or reflashes?
Dont delete this, or im just going to keep reposting it, it doesnt constitute being deleted if everyone else is allowed to voice their opinion.
Bottom line, mastro has a monopoly, its called ecutek. Personally, i think its a rip off to pay that much money for a piggyback in which you have to burn an EPROM to change a tune and which one dyno pretty much has the local monopoly for. I had pretty much the same thing on my accord, called hondata, and it costs $400. Then I see UTEC, in which anyone can do, because its interfaced thru a laptop, no having to keep pulling chips, just clicking a mouse.
Bill: For someone that is suppose to be representing a company in this post, you are being way to cocky, and just decreasing my mastro experience more then it already has for most of us. Also you signifying "cheap roller dyno" as a mustang or dynojet? Come on, its an AWD dyno, THATS why it costs so much. Cant say i have ever heard of a shitty dyno, especially when someone has to fork out 50-60k for one. $150 for 3 baseline runs is just re god damn diclious. I dont know what national average you are looking at. If i can run on a RWD dyno when it comes time to tuning and save $500-$600 for having to do that, then sorry, i dont piss my money away. i can easily factor in that 2-5% loss if need be to see what my "real AWD" numbers would be.
Kyle: "I'm sure Prodrive had no problems when they first started
" I understand what you mean by that, but if you arent sure you can do a job 100% correctly, then you shouldnt be taking on that job without knowing there will be reprocussions, such has having to refund a customers money back. From what I gather, ryan paid $1200 to have a pump installed incorrectly (which burnt up) and absolutely no head way done tuning wise. If i was going to check out, and someone handed a $1200 bill with all that in mind, i would have laughed right in their face and then would have just ripped that person a new ass right there. That REALLY just leaves a bad taste in my and MANY other prospective customers mouths. Customer satisfaction shouldnt be 9 out of 10, it needs to be 10 out of 10.
My background with mastro. I went in with my mom (my cosignee so i could get the lower APR) to buy my wrx, pete came right by chucks desk to tell him something, looked right at my mom and I and then walked off. How are you going to own a dealership and not even introduce yourself to a customer? That REALLY pissed my mom off, in which she even wrote a letter about. Next, they approved us for the lower APR signed all the paperwork, but then had the nerve to call back and say "sorry we messed up, your going to have to come in and sign the paperwork over again for the slightly higher APR". BULLSHIT, the had to deal with it. Then when I went in to get some warantee work, they couldnt even do that correctly. My alignment was off and my drivers window squeeked. When I got the car back, the alignment was still off, and the window started squeeking again an hour later. Sorry, but if you cant fix such simple items as that, I wouldnt have any aftermarket work in which im paying for ever done there.
Bottom line, I base who i go to for any work "I" personally get done by whos built the baddest one. So where will I go when I need work done that I dont want to personally do? That being sam, 11 sec wrx on the stock tranny. His labor rates are much better IMO.
Slow Kyle: Ever since you started working at secret services, you have just been an extremely cocky fuck, frankly, im already tired of it, you need to grow up.
Out of all honesty though, whats the fastest WRX that has been a complete mastro customer and what were the mods?

Thank you for you opinion.
That is how you feel that is fine. You don't need to justify it to anyone.
You hate us because you think we have a monopoly in the dyno. Fine you buy one or better yet buy ours. When we went with the idea of getting it everyone seemed positive about it. Now we are an evil company because we charge too high a rate in YOUR OPINION.
If Ryan had a problem he could have talked to us about it. I believe I am on good terms with Ryan (since I bought him a beer
) I would have gone to bat for him and tried to talk to Pete or John. Problem is now we found out he was unhappy by hearing it through other people not him personally.
If you feel like lobbying for someone you feel was treated unjustly and can't defend themself I'm sure there is animal actavist group you can join.

i dont say there is a monopoly on the dyno, i could really care less about it bc ill never use it, im just saying there is one on the ecutek. also, i dont hate anyone there, you have no idea how much it takes for some to get on my hate side. like i said, kyle, you have always been cool to me, but as far as some of your co workers go, one of them already expressed one of my points in the original thread.
i guess it would be just more obvious to me that if i couldnt tune a customers car right, i wouldnt even have charged them in the 1st place.
