SUBARU ANNOUNCES PRICING ON 2004MY LEGACY AND OUTBACK MODELS
Company marks historical milestone with 35th Anniversary Edition models
CHERRY HILL, N.J., July 22, 2003 – Subaru of America, Inc., the only car company that offers symmetrical all-wheel drive as standard equipment on every vehicle in its product line, today announces the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for 2004 model year Legacy and Outback models. In addition, Subaru of America marks a historical milestone with the introduction of the 2004 model year Legacy and Outback 35th Anniversary Edition models.
35th Anniversary Edition
The 2004 model year Legacy L 35th Anniversary Edition models replace the 2003 model year L Special Edition models. The 35th Anniversary Edition Package increases in value with the addition of a six-way power driver’s seat and carpeted floor mats. The MSRP on Legacy L 35th Anniversary Edition Sedan with manual transmission is $20,695, and the Wagon is $21,795. MSRP for the four-speed electronic automatic transmission Legacy L 35th Anniversary Edition Sedan is $21,495 and $22,595 for the Wagon.
The base Outback H6-3.0 wagon becomes the Outback H6-3.0 35th Anniversary Edition Wagon with a new alloy wheel design and a 35th Anniversary Edition fender-mounted badge with a MSRP of $27,095.
Other Legacy and Outback
All other Legacy and Outback models will increase $100. Some Subaru Legacy and Outback models with 2.5 liter engines distributed for sale in California (and in Northeast states which have adopted California Specification Emission Control Systems and are registered for use in those states) will be specially equipped to meet the California Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (PZEV credited SULEV2) requirements, and therefore will receive a $200 increase in base MSRP.

A Legacy STi would be nice, though I'd rather see a single turbo design, to be honest. When I'm old and a family man, I'll likely be looking at cars like these. Hopefully the WRX will be putting 700whp (175 whp for Billy ) by then. That way I could keep the Legacy around 300whp and carry the screaming little bastards and blushing bride around in relative comfort without being SLOW.
