Mastro Dyno Day 7/19/03 Saturday
I'm confirmed, I'll see you guys for sure. I'm still not sure if I'm putting the car up on the dyno or not, we'll see.
Needless to say, I'll be there.

I think I missed most of you guys, I didn't show up until 1am...
Still had fun meeting a few really nice folks and checking out some of the cars.
Also, Thanks to Mastro for the free t-shirt, I'll be sure to wear it at appropriate times so people know which dealership rocks around here.
I almost hate to even ask this but what was up with white Prodrive stage II maybe III car? Is that anyone's car from here?

luke - which car were you driving? Did you go up on the dyno?
The Prodrive car was a Stage II I think. Not sure what number he put down, but the guy didn't seem to be very happy.
I was so busy babbling, I'm not even sure which Scoob put down the biggest number on the day. The 2 M5s in the morning were very nice...380+whp for both, but I was expecting more from the Dinan car. Spending that kind of cashola, I'd think 400+whp was a requirement!! Still enough for both of them to bust the tires loose with ease, so I suppose it's enough.
Hope everyone had a good time. Thanks as always to Pete, Bill, Kyle, Allan and the rest of the folks at Mastro. Always fun to hang wif yous guys.

I decided not to dyno my car as there was a guy on the dyno right after I arrived that has almost the same setup as mine so I made the $150.00 investment that much more less temping as I was undecided in the first place. He put down 221 to the wheels, with a slightly more pimp exhaust so I should in theory be down a bit from that but that's good enough for me.
My car was the stock looking WRB with the hella lights in place of the fog lights(if you noticed) parked at the end of the parking lot in front of the garage next to I think the car the carbon fiber hood pimped to the max car. My car was right next to the fence. I didn't think anyone would care about my stock looking car but it was flattering having some of the folks asking about my car. I did most of the work myself with some help from Mastro so it was nice some folks asking questions and I never mind sharing my opinions.
This is what I look like if it helps: http://gallery.majjix.com/poland2003/P6070090
I might of met you, I dunno I tried to talk to everyone but I babbling all over the place too.

i was talking to the guy with the prodrive pack...
i remember him saying it should have put down an additional 68 hp to the wheels.... this would be looking at about 235 whp, but he only saw about 198....
i guess they ecutek'ed the car.... got him up to 218 whp from a prestored map until they can sort the situation out... i dont blame him for being pissed.... i would be too!! like even he was saying...
there were a LOT of wrx guys there watching prodrive NOT live up to their word... i guess it did have a damn smooth power curve however...

Prodrive performance pack stage 3: 198HP (17psi boost 100% injector duty cycle)
Alan's base Ecutek map: 218HP (14psi of boost 84% duty cycle)
I hate to tell you all this but it is impossible to go over 225HP at the wheels with out bigger injectors. 85% is a safe maximum on the dyno because it will go up when the car is on the road.
100% duty cycle= injectors never pulse just wide open all the time.

What the hell is Prodrive doing up high to generate 100% duty cycles and only 198whp on 17psi of boost!?
Those are pretty shite numbers!
The guy definitely looked troubled after the dyno pull. I feel for him...the Prodrive packs are pretty affordable, but not for those kinds of modest performance gains. Wow. :o
They had him setup to run 17psi of boost on the stock turbo and injectors??? The damn air coming out of that thing must have been hot as Hades!! Damn.
