I also wanted to let everyone know that the Pony's and Excels of the 80's might have been made "assembled" by Hyundai but the Engines and trasmisisons were either 100% Mitsubishi or 50-50% mitsu/ford Depending on the year and model... sooo you guys should be Bashing Mitsu Not Hyundai maybe hyundai made a mistake for hireing mitsu for production of their engines but not entirely their fault for the Oil Burning... also if anyone has a Dodge Colt, Mitsu marige of the mid to late 80's they'll notice they'er probbly burning oil too
If you guys read about how the engines and trannys have done since lets say 1996 and present you'll notice very Few major problems a few of the tibbys had header cracking on the 1.8L Tubular Exhaust manifolds which as a matter of fact add 7whp on the 2.0 Beta II engines you have to admit not many cars come with Tubular headers STOCK !! it was 4-2-1 design also came on the 1.8L Elantra Also ...
anyways about the Tranny on the New 6Spd Tibby which was designed partly by BMW and if you get a chance to take one out for a test drive it's sooooo Ssmmooooth mmmmmm
Oh BTW my freind and i bought our cars at the same time i bought my Elantra GT and she bought an Alero by GM she's taken her car in for Warrenty 6 times in the past 10 months ive taken my car in ummm 4 times only for Oil changes which i get them to put in Moble 1 (new car oil) heck the engine even comes with Platnum Plugs
