Default What we did on February 20 2021 at Keystone Motor Club

What we did on February 20 2021 at Keystone Motor Club.
We meet every 3rd Saturday.
Keep up to date with us and send us a like on facebook under Keystone Motor Car Club.
We started on February 20 2021 as people did an early roll in to Winn Dixie at 930AM
Joe Avanzato arrived before I did.

The February special theme was "I love My Car".
A rough estimate was about 40 cars and 65 people in attendance. Can't say for sure. We try to sign everyone in but missed a few during the rush and there were a few late arrivals. I missed signing in that really nice Plymouth Super Bird that was parked close to the building near Winn Dixie.

Someone suggested that we start a do-it-yourself sign-in sheet on the refreshments table. So we did! This may save us some time since crowds are getting bigger and better. We were flagging people in over the new finish line. Joe Avanzato was the flag person, and a few others...
But I spent too much time BSing about people's cars instead of signing people in. I need to focus on signing people in.
A closed hood is just a parked car, but AN OPEN HOOD IS A CAR SHOW!

Attendees can park the car, open the hood and scatter out faster than we can sign them in! Everyone was having a good time helping themselves to GI Coffee, hot tea, cookies, candy and Reeses supplied by the WOK/Women Of Keystone.

Before we started, I expressed to the meeting that we are blessed with warm weather, and comparing to Texas, we have no snow, no frozen windmills denying us electricity, and no frozen water pipes. In Texas, Walmart cannot open to sell people food because the govt "Rules" say they cannot open unless they have running water.....so people cannot buy food, bottled water, blankets, heaters and other supplies until frozen pipes are fixed.

Florida has over a 99% recovery rate from covid and "Cases" are not "deaths". Thanks for coming out. Outdoors masks are optional, and there are no judgements about your choices.

The 50/50 winner received $60. We had a variety of door prizes that were Valentine oriented, plus some special presentations. Keystone Motor Club Founders Sam and Carol Prentice were recognized by Gen as the longest married couple with 63 years together.

Vic Piano performed entertainingly as Guest Master of Ceremonies (GMC even though he drove one of his Fords lol ). At 11AM, we began acknowledging a few people who make things work within Keystone Motor Club. Our thanks to Milt Roorda who arrived early and placed the signs for our meeting.

Isabella Bradley is the club photographer and cares for Keystone Motor Club's Facebook page. Her photos appear on post #'s 317 thru 323 of this newsletter and our facebook is "Keystone Motor Car Club" if you will send a couple likes to some of the pictures. So far we have 35 facebook likes and 57 followers.
Mark Duetsch has posted two of his pictures on KMC's facebook. You can send pics or stories to Isabella atsteelclassic23@Yahoo.com.

Gen Rummy is in charge of each WOK/Women Of Keystone project, plus Gen edits and prints the club history, plus the pass-out notices for car shows, and I am greatful for the help.
------------------------------------
Other clubs represented were Classic T-Birds of Tampa Bay and two Mustang Clubs. We should have asked if they wanted to tell when and where they meet and their upcoming events. We will get better at recognizing other clubs and offering them a few moments to speak.
-----------------------
We were visited by the Editor and Publisher of Motoring Tampa Bay Magazine,
Nitish Rele, and he personally brought over magazines for everyone. Keystone Motor Club now has our meeting notices added to their calendar of car meets.
-------------------------
Gen
operated the 50/50 along with Jeanne Montgomery
(if I got that right) passing out door prizes while Vic Piano announced the winners. The $150 collectible Big Red Rod was won on a single $1 ticket purchase. We had guaranteed a $25 payout for the 50/50, and the winner got $60.
------------------------
Several people were taking pictures.
HELP! I need some of those pictures! Not only for this newsletter, but also for the club history and facebook. You can email them to me...address is at the bottom of this notice.
---------------------------------------------------
Keystone currently needs someone as an Essential Sign-in Person (ESP) and we need another person to help Joe Avanzato flag people in. I thank you, sir for your help today.
---------------------------------------------------
We are still collecting pictures of people and their cars for the club history.
Want to have you and your car in the same picture? Email
Bob Vail... the address and phone are at the page bottom. I would also like to do some interviews where you tell me about your car and some car things that you have gone to or remember from past times.
-----------------
The Keystone Motor Club's Highly Informal Strictly Voluntary newsletter now has over 19,000+ views, a gain of 2,000 views from the January meeting. Remember when we had only 7,000 views a year ago?

Our thanks to the person who went there and read it another 2,000 times! LOL
------------------------------

Thanks to all donations we collected $60 and when added, brought a total $247 into the KMC treasury as of February 20 2021. This is the public acknowledgement to all members at post #359 in the Keystone newsletter: Bob Vail is voluntarily acting as KOT (Keeper of Treasury) holding the total amount of $247 for the club.
We had guaranteed $25 payout for the 50/50, and the winner got $60.
------------------------------
Not everyone signed in...not all cars....but we will get better at this.
-------------------
We need a volunteer or two, to sometimes step up and sign people in and we are looking
for a few good people to occasionally flag people in with the checkered flag as cars arrive.

Part two of this posting will appear at post #360 in the actual newsletter:
