Resetting throttle position:
Try resetting the throttle position first: turn ignition to run (foot off the brake so the engine doesn't start) when the chimes and dash lights stop their dance, press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and let it back up again within 10 seconds (5 seconds is better) then turn the ignition off. This re calibrates the pedal to the throttle body (if you press the pedal down three times quickly it also resets the oil change light).

There is a TSB to re-flash the PCM when you get that particular code..might solve your problem (this is for the 2011 models, but yours could still have a PCM problem)

Just found this on a Jeep site..basically says that since the oil pump will not switch into high pressure mode, the RPM is limited to 3500 rpm--you may need a new oil pump..time to take it to the dealer for confirmation.

Reset it then go to an autozone and have them read the computer for any fault codes..it is beginning to look like you may need a new gas pedal assembly (it has a potentiometer that sends a signal to the throttle body telling it how much to open) or a new throttle body... one of the two is not working nicely with the other.
Part is called the "accelerator pedal travel sensor" which is the sensor and padeal all in one:
