Tom, I believe the towing capacity is rated for 5,000 or 5,500lbs. Yes, they have the same VQ40DE that the Frontier has and it's rated at 265/285. It is pretty much just a stroked VQ35DE. The Offroad comes with a Dana44 rear axle as opposed to the non-Offroad auto trucks which have a C200K and are supposeably a weaker rear axle.

The nice thing about the truck is it shares the F-alpha platform with the Frontier/Pathfinder/Titan/Armada and tons of parts are interchangeable. My first mod will probably be a M205 front diff(Titan/Armada/V8 Pathfinder) and Pathfinder axles(same wheel base as the X). I'm finding it a common occurance that the R180 breaks quite often and the M205 is twice as strong.
