the d17 is a stout little engine, and you do know about youtube, so look at that. There are pleny of *kits* available, there is a guy in the area putting down 220 on a d17. Everything has to do with tuning. Now granted a swap would yield you better results in the long run, but if you really want to boost the d17 it has been done, and some others have gotten great results out of it. If you go on youtube there is a d17 with over 300hp and putting down some decent tourque as well. Swap makes more sense, because in the end you pay 3k or so for the kit, where a swap will yield you more drivability with less headache for about the same price.
Thanks if you could send some links for some videos ill also look myself... I heard FullRace turbo kits are good but some also say they arent. The price im going to spend to swap out to a k-series engine and tranny id rather put into the d17 and the right tune. I'm not afraid to say im a newbie to this but also willing to learn the most i can... If swapping out to k-series is the best result then so be it, would boosting my d17 cause long run issues? also would i have to build my tranny?
