the d17 is a stout little engine, and you do know about youtube, so look at that. There are pleny of *kits* available, there is a guy in the area putting down 220 on a d17. Everything has to do with tuning. Now granted a swap would yield you better results in the long run, but if you really want to boost the d17 it has been done, and some others have gotten great results out of it. If you go on youtube there is a d17 with over 300hp and putting down some decent tourque as well. Swap makes more sense, because in the end you pay 3k or so for the kit, where a swap will yield you more drivability with less headache for about the same price.

Thanks if you could send some links for some videos ill also look myself... I heard FullRace turbo kits are good but some also say they arent. The price im going to spend to swap out to a k-series engine and tranny id rather put into the d17 and the right tune. I'm not afraid to say im a newbie to this but also willing to learn the most i can... If swapping out to k-series is the best result then so be it, would boosting my d17 cause long run issues? also would i have to build my tranny?

If you boost it you will learn alot about your car.....it will be unreliable.

See the thing is i've got 2 kids and unable to throw cash around like that, so with the car i have i'd like to do work to instead going out and buying an older year honda... I've seen 06-09 honda on youtube doing low 11's on 1/4 mile... BUT also they are k-series... So would it be better to swap k-series then? I've heard the k-series tranny sucks tho? I hate to keep asking im just desperate to know... Either build my single cam and boost or k-series and go all motor... BY THE WAY SICK A$$ S2000 YOU GOT...

Thanks and if you have the funds to swap a k in that's what i would do, it will get your car at about a 15 second 1/4 mile time give or take. Also your current engine is a r18 not d17. Those 11 second civics youre seeing on youtube are probably boosted k series. For reliability stick with n/a. For the record the 1990 accord in my sig is a 3500 dollar car thats extremely reliable and faster than my old 07 si sedan i used to have

Well i decided to stay with the R18. I dont know why people kept telling me its a D17. I looked on youtube of some R18 doing some good times on the 1/4 mile.. So im not worried I just need to figure out the right Turbo Kit and the right person to Tune my car for me.. I know a few people in Squadron1 in tampa so hopefully things can get worked out... I appreciate if you kept me updated on some more information... I wouldnt mind pushing my single cam to the max i understand theres better options but sh*t like I said im limited to funds especially xmas around the corner and my kids going to drain me with cash... But appreciate it..
