Removed the Pectel yesterday. Car started on the first try (shocking). It had some problems idling once warmed up. I would sit at a light, the car starts idling low then surging. Then stall, restart, immediate stall, restart, immediate stall, and the cycle continues.
So I decided to change the plugs since they may have been fouled due to the extreme rich conditions brought forth by the Pectel. The plugs were all different gaps, only one was at the factory .051 gap. All others ranged from .055 to .065.
Install the plugs and a new fuel filter. Reset the PCM. Start the car and she purrs like a kitten. Check engine light is now off.
Take her for a nice thrashing on the Crosstown. Pulls MUCH harder than before, not one hiccup. Come to a stop and she stalls. Restart then immediate stall and the check engine light comes back on.
Right now, I cannot even start the car and get under the hood fast enough before the car stalls. All the connections under the hood are correct and snug. No vacuum leaks whatsoever. It has a pretty nasty collector leak, but I wouldn't consider it horrible.
What else can I look into? Does anyone have an OBDII scanner they could hook into my car to see what the hell is going wrong? It has no cat and the EGR eliminated, but these in no way would cause these idling issues.
