HELP: Idling issues
Removed the Pectel yesterday. Car started on the first try (shocking). It had some problems idling once warmed up. I would sit at a light, the car starts idling low then surging. Then stall, restart, immediate stall, restart, immediate stall, and the cycle continues.
So I decided to change the plugs since they may have been fouled due to the extreme rich conditions brought forth by the Pectel. The plugs were all different gaps, only one was at the factory .051 gap. All others ranged from .055 to .065.
Install the plugs and a new fuel filter. Reset the PCM. Start the car and she purrs like a kitten. Check engine light is now off.
Take her for a nice thrashing on the Crosstown. Pulls MUCH harder than before, not one hiccup. Come to a stop and she stalls. Restart then immediate stall and the check engine light comes back on.
Right now, I cannot even start the car and get under the hood fast enough before the car stalls. All the connections under the hood are correct and snug. No vacuum leaks whatsoever. It has a pretty nasty collector leak, but I wouldn't consider it horrible.
What else can I look into? Does anyone have an OBDII scanner they could hook into my car to see what the hell is going wrong? It has no cat and the EGR eliminated, but these in no way would cause these idling issues.

damn, I have an OBD2 Scanner at the house. Lemme call Suzie and see if she'll be out near me today so she can drop it off.
You might want to check your battery connections. In my S10, the battery cable was barely loose (it took a pretty tough 1/4 turn to tighten it) but the damned thing would NOT idle for shit. Once tight, it idled fine.

Thanks for your help Kevin. Dave, sometime this week I'd like to meet you to do a quick OBDII scan just to see what the heck is going on.
We found it wasn't a bad TPS or MAF. Absolutely dumbfounded as to why I am now having these issues. The car didn't have these problems BEFORE the Pectel was installed. Something happened to something when I was running the Pectel. What it was, I have no f-ing clue.
Now the car doesn't have a check engine light. My next step is to put the cat and EGR back on the car...although there is absolutely no way this should have effected my idle.

It could be running rich if its expecting the EGR to be operational but its not.
Do you have a second O2 sensor behind the cat? Are you tricking that to avoid the CEL?
Did you splice into any wiring for the Pectel swap or did you remove and replace? You could have a bad wire connection.

sounds like a stuck IAC valve. Unplug it and see if your car does anything different mang. I have an extra one floating around if you want to try it.

The IAC is such a pain in the as to get to. It requires the removal of the intake manifold, so that is my absolute last resort.
Next weekend the cams get swapped out for the stockes and I try to part out as much as possible off the car. If all goes well I'll be in something else ASAP. This car is absolutely rediculous. Its only three years old and is such a pain in my ass/wallet. It was cursed since the 100th mile where it needed a transmission rebuild. I should have taken that as a sign this car would be trouble.
