A mechanic only uses what you bring him, Every engine I have ever had built I brought the parts to the mechanic for assembly. If I brought him parts that shouldn't be used with new bearings and I don't tell him this, than I assume responsibility. Tom should have had a nitrated or aftermarket crank put in that engine to begin with. End of story.. If Tom didn't know, the mechanic didn't know, why as his friend did you not educate him on the subject. This thread could have been avoided.
Are you saying a 7 bolt must have a nitrated crank put in or it will walk in a few thousand miles?
Cause of its not what your saying then everything you posted is worthless.
How many 2g's with 7 bolts out there do you think have nitrated cranks in them?
Or are you just blinding defending someone I havent blamed for this. Even though he never even checked the clearance on the bearing when assembling it. Said he didn't have any plastic gauge.
