I have a 1999 jetta glx 2.8 12v that had coolant in a cylinder and a noise. I went to pull the head off and saw the tensioner was broken, and have decided to just put a engine in it. The engine did run when I started to take it apart(how I have no idea) but I doubt it will run due to parts of the tensioner falling into the oil galley for the lower timing chain assembly. Motor has 130,000 miles on it. I'm a ford person and really don't know how much it is worth( if anything) and wanted to see if anyone was interested in it.
