Alright, so I just got a 02 GTI in, and the thing starts for a second then cuts off, all along with the key/car logo blinking on the cluster.

tried battery swap, touching cables to discharge, wiggling it, leaving key in ignition for 20 minutes, etc and to no avail.

To be honest, Im not sure they even gave back the correct key with the car(i mean it does crank it over). Now can someone with a vagcom check it out, or do i need to bring it to a dealer/key coding type of person?
