It could work. The biggest variable is the crank trigger.
But why? For any SR, I'd run a WC ECU to gain e-fan and boost control capabilities. This includes a VE by running a 20V CAS and single solenoid. You can run the same thing on a KA by swapping the wheel to a DET one and running coilpacks. Like omgosh is saying, I would go this direction because I know the ECU and code so well.
But what I'm really interested in now is putting a Z33 e-throttle on an SR, adding ABS hubs, and running a Motec to gain a real traction control / launch control. Imagine these traction limited turds with a premium ECU feathering the throttle for you.

And that ChaseBays solenoid; I had the exact same thing down to the Deutsch connector on my S14 when experimenting. Except that I bought that MAC solenoid from Fright Props for $12 and the connector for $3 on ebay.
