ya ive heard all that shit too but my friend has a cbr 600rr and i ride it all the time, dont get me wrong it is lighter then the 636 and such but when getting on the interstate it just doesnt have it when i pull that throttle all the way back. the 636 handled bumps perfectly and cornered just as good as the 6rr.
also what might help her once she gets a bike is take it to a bike shop (performance one) and have her suspension set up for exactly her and how she rides. a lot of people forget to do this when they get a bike and just jump on it and ride away. when i got my suspensioned tweaked to me i could tell it felt better by like 100x's then what it was at before. it handled better in corners and just about everything that i did.
she may want to lower it now but when she gets use to 1 foot planting when stopping have her raise it back up. when i dropped my bike 1 link down and when i raised it again it was a night and day difference. it went from a Cadillac turning to a Corvet. it really took away from the suspension but it was something that i needed to get use to until i could 1 foot it. then i grew and could flat foot both feet with stock height.
