From working around a body shop, I am willing to say that something is not square after the wreck. Light body damage does not mean the hit was light. The other car may have bent the axle tub or bent the control arms, pushed the frame rail (if it has one in 95), maybe the trany took some of the impact and cracked the housing. Who knows... but I hope you took it to a good body shop! All of those things should have been checked and then had the claim re-adjusted. I would tow it right back to that shop and start calling my insurance company. I am willing to bet that something is not square and that has caused your current problem...
