But I do agree, alot of misinformation and problems people have are their building capabilities. I know a really good ase certified mechanic that doesnt even know how to use plastigauge

I recommend removing them on drag cars. If they werent needed on street cars the engine wouldnt have come with them. Mitsu would have saved millions upon millions leaving them out. Fact is they serve very important purpose. A straight four engine suffers from bad engine harmonics like no other engine design. The harmonics is bad enough to wear out engine bearings prematurely. I am not even sure taking them out adds horsepower. It has been shown in v8 world removing the harmonic balancer costs HP. If engine is vibrating it takes HP to make those vibrations. never seen a back to back test in 4g63 world. Everyone just assumes its best thing to do. Even top engine builders recommend leaving them out. The two top reasons balance shafts fail is the belt being adjusted too tight and running engine to point of detonation. The rod bearings shed small particles. This particles dont pass through balance shaft bearing easily. so the bearings can fail. No offense but removing balance shafts and telling others to do so is like the blind leading the blind. IMHO.
