alright... time to install the now shrouds on the headlights since my old ones failed.
got the headlights apart.
as you can see my home made shroud trim didnt hold up to the heat. the plastic ended up melting a bit causing shrinkage and separation. one of them was floating in the headlight.
here is a comparison of the warped old shrouds and the new ones which are actually meant for a headlight shroud. i am still keeping the oven drop pan portion of the shroud to conceal the housing.
because of the difference in size and shape of the shroud trim i am having to modify the internal trim of the headlight to allow proper fitment. i used a marker to mark out where i needed to trim back. all of this is done gradually in order to not shave to much away and the measurements are all taken by eye.
i completed the shaving of the internal headlight trim but i need to get some silicon caulk to re-seal the headlights and reassemble them. i will include pics of the finished product within the next few days.
i also got a package from fedex today....
my 2 part sand-able, non-sag seam sealer. (Lord Fusor 123EZ).
