And other DOHC offerings as compared to what? C headed motors or what about the first gen B head motors? The stock 4.6's can go up to about 430 - 450hp safely when done right. You can do a B head motor for pretty cheap. Hell I was seriously considering doing a carb'd 5.4 Navigator engine before I found the LQ9 I have now. About 320hp on motor and a progressive 150 shot would put the stock rods at their limit. Not sure if that would be enough for 10's,.. but it would definitely be a fun ride.
