I doubt they will be much less in 3-5 years. IMO, the 5.0 crate engine is PAINFULLY cheap for what you get - compared to previous DOHC crate motor offerings.

I dont know Jeff,.. your definition of painfully cheap and mine are on completely different ends of the spectrum.

Painfully cheap to me is paying $1200 for a 345hp motor with 4994 miles on it. Painfully cheap is doing the entire swap with long tubes, new cam and everything putting over 400hp to the ground for under $3000. Thats painfully cheap IMO.

The GM 6.0 and Fords new 5.0 are on equal grounds in terms of performance IMO. The new 5.0 isnt giving anything up by being 65ci smaller either. Its a bad ass motor for sure. How ever,.. Once my project is done I'm only a 150 shot away from low 10 second ET's. And thats in a set up not even meant for drag racing. Then later down the road I still have the option to stroke this thing,.. 6.0's make nice 408 and 427's also.

Motor to motor if you get that 5.0 in your car I think we'll be on even ground performance wise. I'd really like for us to get together and get some runs in when you are done. Right now I'm looking at May for a completion date. How far are you from getting your car road worthy? Maybe we could hit the track or if you dont mind coming up here to Pasco the Suncoast parkway is pretty deserted during the wee hours if you wanted to do some roll runs instead of digs.
