Have you looked at one of the new shifters? They are much more complicated - honestly, I'm surprised that they don't cost more.
I doubt they will be much less in 3-5 years. IMO, the 5.0 crate engine is PAINFULLY cheap for what you get - compared to previous DOHC crate motor offerings.
