Good news and bad news,.. well not really so bad,.. but sucky just the same.

Replaced the water pump in my truck,.. no problems. Finshed it start to finish in about 1 1/2 hours. One of the easiest I've ever done. For shits and giggles I put the wrench on the bolt, whacked it with a hammer and viola. It broke loose. No fighting, easy peasy.

I bought a chain wrench for the 6.0. Locked the water pump pulley. Put the wrench on the nut,.. beat the piss out of it with the hammer and nothing. Would not break loose. I pulled the water pump off and took it and the clutch fan assembly still attached to it over to my inlaws place. I hit it with an air chisel and did nothing but put gouge after gouge all over the nut. I put the pump in a vice and put a 36" crescent wrench to the nut,.. I beat on it with a 10 lb sledge hammer and did nothing but strip the nut.

So I've called quits. After buying the water pump for my truck I see that they come with a new pulley and new copper gaskets. I will just buy a new water pump for the 6.0 and call it a day. I was so worried that I wouldnt be able to get the nut off the 5.3 in my truck,.. turned out that 6.0 pump was DOA before I ever tried to break it loose. Oh well,.. win some lose some.

Thanks for the help guys.
