I guess I just can't understand having so much pride that I would risk permanent physical or mental damage. I've seen what even a single punch can do, and this guy risked getting a severe beatdown. I knew a guy who got punched in the face once and had his cheek bone crushed so badly that they had to put a plate in his face permanently, on top of the fact that the eye on that side no longer moves because the muscle was destroyed too. That was a single punch. Can you really say that your "pride" being damaged from facing two dudes twice your size is worth that?
