The crank angle sensor is not the same as the cam sensor. The crank angle sensor is located behind the crank pulley. There is a crank angle sensing blade that rotates with the crank telling the crank angle sensor position of the crank which then signals the ignition system when to fire. If the crank angle sensor or blade is giving out that could intermittenly cut out your fuel and ignition signals.
