Best Buy are like Eagles we keep our product on lock down with sweep intervals and undercover security as well as door security. People still steal crap though. The Asset Protection average about $10/hr too.

The thing about Sears is they are not used to paying alot of wage even if it's in a K-Mart store, they are primarily comission base.
$10hr for asset protection hires? Thats retarded. K-mart (Sears Holdings) hired my wife at $42k salary as an in store AP manager and 45 days later (2 weeks ago) they shit canned the regional AP manager in her division and she was offered the posshared_session with a $12k salary increase and bonuses based on how the stores shrink out during their audits. Now she's almost making what she was with the sheriff's dept.

As far as Best Buy is,.. I've personally watched people razor blade packages and shuv product in their hand bag or under their hoodie and walk out the store. The one here in New Port Richey is a thief's dream store. They just grab what they want and walk into the mall.

People who steal at k-marts are just nuts. I sat in the room while we watched (On camera) this lady with a cart full of crap just walked out the front door and no one stopped her,.. I mean a cart full,.. 32" LCD TV, 2 document shredders, 10 different MP3 players, a dozen electric shavers,.. all kinds of crap. My wife had to go running after her in the parking lot and technically k-mart's policy is not to chase once the thief is out the door. And worst part is,.. I can not intervene or my wife would get fired. The other messed up thing is that 30% of the theft at K-marts is done by store employees.
