Yeah, I was considering what extra speed/hp you'd get from a colder IAT. It'd have to be a setup where you're on the edge of detonation and you need that cool air to make it work. So the difference would be running or blowing up, not a few % hp. Kinda like what people do with high boost meth setups.
An air-water setup is going to be heavier than air-air to begin with. I'd just use a small res and big fan on heat exchanger to keep it from heat soaking at the line/stopped.
Or what Dan said. And make everyone's eyes burn as you drive by.
