Ford hasnt made a transmission since the 60's. Unless you count the AOD and even most of that was done out of house. Both GM and Ford have been contracting other companies for manual tranny's since the 60's. Borg Warner mainly. GM had Saginaw and Muncie,.. but were still GM designs. Ford used 3 and 4 spd Borg Warner T10's since the 50's. The last manual Ford did was the Top loader and that tranny is arguably one of the best 'factory' trannys ever made. Comparable to a Muncie M22.

The GT's are still using a hydrualic version of the Tremec 3650.
They are still having the same issues with it that they've had since 01 only now they complicated it with a hydraulic clutch adding the same issue the 4th gen Fbodies had with their T56. Talk to any Fbody guy,.. I've done a few clutch in 4th gens myself. Bleeding the slave is a PITA,.. and more so when you have to pull it all back apart to shim the slave cylinder because there isnt enough pedal. I hate hydraulic clutches.
