It wont matter, if its a few tenths faster, or a few tenths slower, or a few seconds slower, it will drive far more enjoyable on the street, in traffic, and on the highway, i've never claimed to be building an all out racecar, just a nice daily driver.
And you're silly on the traction thing, keep hoping that works, it wont though.
Little torque at motor, high gear to multiply it, lots of torque, lower gear to not multiply it, at the end of the day i'll just be shifting less.
