Yeah mr. Z06 only used 2nd down the main straight, I used third and I was faster. It was more fun to actually use the gears. Thats why I like driving a manual car, thats where driving dynamics comes in, how much fun is the car to drive? I dont want to go to an autocross, or a track or a mountain road and leave it in 2nd the entire time that would be boring. Thats what makes driving something with a tiny motor fun, going up and down the gears and working for the speed. Its not about the power its about the over all experience. I'd like to row through the gears and down shift. Its exiting and makes the driving experience much more fun.
In the end, I was still faster than an LS7 car that is well known to be very compentant out of the box at auto-x.
If I was building an all out race car then the entire set up would be different from the suspension to the tires to the engine, but I'm not I'm building a car that is exciting and rewarding to drive. You need to get out and do some more driving. I dont care if the car is actually faster, what matters is how much fun I'm having.
Cool you were faster than a heavier car, with an extensively modified car, good job on going back to chris's spreadsheet again comparing the corvette to an S chassis, the comparison was same chassis, different engine.

Give me a break, i'll pass on having to rev the shit out of things just to get along in traffic, anyone who's got enough sense and driven a few different cars generally admits having a car with a lot more midrange torque is a lot nicer to drive around.
But hey you have fun jumping around and doing all that shifting, i'm not forcing you to go to a better setup, just amused that you absolutely refuse to admit, after countless apples to apples comparisons, that its better, and keep going back to apples to potatos comparison examples.
