It is because its a high compression motor with hypereuretic pistons. Throw some spray in there if you want cheap power. The heads are great and it has cross mounted 4 bolt mains for the crank. The headbolts are also 12mm diameter from the factory and each piston has individual oil squirters to keep the cylinder/pistons cool; so it can handle boost once you lower the compression with some forged pistons.
