No, Peak hp always stays the same. Vtec is just there to help change the cam profile for better air/fuel. It isn't a "power-adder" However if I left it at 4700 I would have had less HP before engagement, because the motor would have been choked for air.

And it is mere co-incidence that my engagement point was adjusted to 4400 rpm, as your friends. I know you know better than that man
