Remember, theres the right way, and then theres the cheap way. If you do it the cheap way, you'll probably do it more than once, and in the long run, its cheaper to do it the right way the first time.
How the fuck do you get to $8k?
You can do a mild build for less than $3k, the right way, and make up a good deal of power. You can do a full bottom end build (Vitara FTW!) for less than $1000, including machining if you already have a block. Full build and tune for less than $5k, easily.
OP, it's obvious you should do alot more reading before you decide on anything. Do the research yourself, you'll be alot happier making the decision yourself and not having TR do it. I've been looking at swaps and builds for a little over a year, and I still can't figure out what to do. But waiting, saving, and doing the research is worth it in the end.
