Theres a lot of stupid in this post.

What kind of warranty do you get on a 1000hp 2 liter? Oh yeah, none. If your veyron breaks, they'll fly it back to germany and fix it for you, then fly it back. What kind of power band to you get on a 2-liter with 1000hp? an exponential curve with no useful power below 6000rshared_pm. The veyron is calm and reliable when you need it to be, you can actually drive it around town without lifting the heads or bending rods or cracking sleeves. The DSG won't fragment every 5th time you launch the car.

A lot of cars have 1000hp, but not very many of them have it for very long. Most drag cars are rebuilt after every run, or at the very least refreshed. You don't have to rebuild a veyron every time you take it on the interstate.

The tires on the veyron are custom made for it, theyre the only tires you can put on the car. They will survive running at 264, but they survive probably twice as long at 258. Remember, 264 isn't the top speed, its the average speed over 2 runs, you could probably hit 270 with a tail wind, and thats not the kind of speeds you want to be going when a tire explodes. The tires on the regular veyron only last for 10 minutes at 254mph, this car is faster, so it makes sense to limit it.
