the oil rings on cyl 3 are starting to go out on my engine. the compression has dropped but not significantly. the car doesn't smoke unless i really lay into it hard. like i'm really pissed off hard. does it burn oil otherwise? yes:
during daily driving around town the oil level will stay till about 2,600 miles then i'm down about a quart
during highway driving the loss of oil happens between 2,000 - 2,300 miles
you can get a compression check done if you are not seeing a leak elsewhere like a rear main seal, etc.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.
