You don't need a CWP course, a Hunter's Ed course, which is free, will suffice. Those courses are largely a waste of time and money.

The turnaround time for permits is down to a couple weeks, you no longer send your paperwork in. Now you bring it to some regional office for something or other in person - they print you and everything down there, if I'm not mistaken.
