You don't need a CWP course, a Hunter's Ed course, which is free, will suffice. Those courses are largely a waste of time and money.
The turnaround time for permits is down to a couple weeks, you no longer send your paperwork in. Now you bring it to some regional office for something or other in person - they print you and everything down there, if I'm not mistaken.

If anyone here has got theirs in the past year please check the dates for me, I looked at a friends yesterday and it was good for 7 years ? his said 09-16, I looked at mine and it says 05-10. Did they change how long they are good for, kinda tripped me out I was going to call on monday to verify if mine was good for 7 years now?
