Simple, maintenance. Fuel injectors are not happy when they sit in methanol. Neither is any part of the fuel system that has aluminum or steel. This also includes fuel filters and such.

Meth kit needs no maintenance. Well hardly any.

This is the problem with E85. Or any blend of alcohol. With fuel system components not designed for alcohol. That is why most new cars that are flex fuel run stainless and plastic(teflon) for everything.

You burn twice as much so your 2.60 per gallon is is really 5.20 per gallon. And the cost of building the fuel system correctly.

No free lunch. never was.. the illusion I can buy race gas at 2.60 per gallon has its issues.
