Btw I worked at a Lincoln dealership...so yeah
Not all the same. GT and GT500 use forged internals with compression ratio's designed for boost. The Lightning though not forged used L specific rods and pistons that differ from the run of the mill 2v 5.4. And again,.. set up for low compression for boost.
That and someone said the Ford Expedition and the 2004 Navigator had the same engine,.. nope. Early Expedition had 2v motors,.. 2005 and later had 3v motors. 2004 Navi has a 4v motor. Each is (Other than the shortblock) are completely different from each other.
9.85:1 compression motors dont exactly lend themselves to accepting a lot of boost on pump gas. 6 - 8 PSI would be really pushing it on 93 octane. Then asking that motor to push around a 5800 lb beast,.. its only a matter of time before either the transmission or engine fails.
