i had the strut positioned so i could remove it by removing the rear sway bar bolt and the camber arm. it gave me plenty of room.

and i have a ball joint puller. the nut came off after putting the 3/4" breaker bar on it and a 4' extension. the bolt must be threaded into the lower part of the strut though. the 15lbs sledge should have knocked it out if anything. even if for some reason it was cross threaded it still should have came off.

when i put the 3/4" bar and the 6' extension on the bolt it just shredded the socket.

idk i'm out of ideas...
