What are you gooing to seal it with? I would think that it would discolor again just from exposure to the heat of the engine and moisture in the air. I would also think that most clear finishes would cook right off of them. Have you considered one of the shiney high temp coatings? Once you have all the old crud polished of any one of them would stick really well.
