S197 uses a simplified version of the 3rd and 4th gen Fbody rear suspension with a top link instead of the torque arm. Other than that,. they are the same thing. 2 lower trailing arms with a single lateral link to locate the rear. Its actually a very good design and why Camaro's always handled better than Mustangs on a road course,.. even though both had a solid rear axle.





I assume you want it for auto-x or raod racing? If you want an IRS out back of an S197,.. grab the IRS out of a late model Tbird. Its on the same S197 chassis. That would work better than the fox based SN95 IRS.
