Then you should know that 2-3k isnt going to go a ground up build. I wouldnt cover the motor, and thats if your going carb and buy some used parts. I'm neck deep in a ground up build, and take from lesson learned the hard way.....You wont see my doing another build thread, unless I get a complete roller less powertrain and drop something in it. Again not trying to shoot down your hopes, but a stroker you could rule out.
Big block on the other hand, dont take a lot to build a very respectable motor. Early heads, some compression, intake, a good carb, and a hydralic roller and 400-500hp would be on tap. Then to make the car "work", plan on everything changed in the suspension
